Intake Screens

Water Intake Systems – Traveling/Passive/Coating – Aqseptence “Johnson Screens”

Aqseptence "Johnson Screens - Water Intake Systems - Traveling Band & Passive - with its trade mark Vee-Wire® is the leading brand for screens in water well intakes. In 1904, Edward E. Johnson founded Johnson Screens after developing world’s first continuous slot wire wrapped screen to be used in a water well. Johnson Screens high capacity passive intake screens are constructed using non-plugging Vee-Wire® with a patented internal flow modifier that creates a nearly uniform low velocity flow through the entire screen surface. This reduces impingement and entrainment of debris while protecting aquatic life. Passive intake screen systems have no moving parts that could break down or wear out, unlike travelling screens. This eliminates the need for replacement parts and costly repairs. The controlled slot velocity of the screen, coupled with the specially matched Hydroburst™ air backwash system, keeps the system clean and operating.

Intake Water Screens – E&I

E&I Water Screens is committed to providing the highest quality Traveling Water Screen available for the last quarter century and been backing up that claim with perfect performance records at installations like Westerville, Ohio. How does a Traveling Water Screen work? The device is simple yet rugged and consists of two strands of heavy-duty roller-chain which supports mesh baskets. The chain and basket assembly travels over head-shaft sprockets which are equipped with removable hardened teeth. The baskets continue around lower traction wheels, where seal plates maintain close tolerances; this eliminates the pass-through of debris.
